Experience the daily rhythm of a traditional Hima homestead (eka)—a circular kraal composed of grass-thatched huts. You'll explore different zones of the homestead: the main hut belonging to the family head, pens for newborn calves (ebihongore), the milking area (eikamiro), and a hearth at the center (ekomi). At night, entrances are blocked with logs (emihingo) to secure the community. You’ll also see the dome-shaped hut interior, divided into a seating space (omuryango), bedrooms (ebitu), and an open rear enclosure (ekikaari)
Gain hands-on exposure to the farming tools, techniques, and food-processing methods that have been passed down through generations of Banyankole people. This immersive experience provides a rare glimpse into the ingenuity and daily routines of agrarian life
The tour includes visits to nearby homesteads, schools, and markets. You'll engage with local residents, fostering cultural exchange and building authentic connections that enrich the experience
